Mood Disorders

Conditions that involve dramatic and lengthy shifts in a person's mood. The individual's thoughts and feelings are intensely affected by their particular mood, making it very difficult to function.

Bipolar Disorder (Manic-Depression)

Person experiences drastic mood swings between extreme states of euphoria (manic state) and severe depression. While experiencing the manic state, a person may take part in self-destructive acts, as their mood incites them to be impulsive and reckless.

Major Depression

A state of severe sadness that is persistent and long-lasting. The person feels that their mood is permanent, and they are unable to affect change.

Reactive Depression

Depression that is experienced by an individual after a particularly stressful event, or a number of events have occurred. Reactive Depression is the given diagnosis to someone experiencing mild to moderate depression. It is a natural response to difficult life experiences.
